Description:Are you struggling with a problem, a concern or an issue? Do you have a dream or a vision that you would like to create? Does it feel like your life is in a rut and going nowhere? Do you want to be more than you are right now?
If so, I can help you.
I offer individual and couples counseling aimed at helping you create a more fulfilled, happier life. In therapy, I provide a supportive, safe, healing environment – a place to explore, discuss and practice new ways of thinking about yourself and your life. As my client, you will increase your self-awareness, gain self-confidence and be empowered to make decisions that are positive for your relationships, career, finances, health and ultimately your life.
As a psychotherapist and life coach, in addition to my professional training, I bring my numerous and varied life experiences, a unique perspective born from my Jamaican heritage and my open heart. I believe in creating therapeutic relationships based on non-judgment, compassion, respect and total acceptance of the unique individual you are. I am welcoming and sensitive to diversity of all types – in faith and spiritual beliefs; race; sexuality; life choices and family of origin experiences.
I work primarily with individuals focusing on personal and spiritual growth, who are desirous of expanding their world so that they may experience joy and success in every aspect of their lives. We nurture this growth thru the learning of new ways of looking at ourselves and the circumstances that we find ourselves in on a daily basis. Our thoughts create our world and our emotional experiences. Together, we learn how to change our way of thinking so that we may gain expertise in navigating our lives so as to have greater meaning, more joy and happiness and richer success. In therapy, we embrace our authentic selves and are empowered to live our lives expressing who we truly are.
I also work with couples desirous of healing and expanding their relationship to so that they are relating to each other in a mutually intimate and loving manner. Together, we explore the perceptions of each person and learn to communicate with and honor our partner while feeling loved, heard and honored within your relationship. I work with couples recovering from infidelity, lack of intimacy as well as coping with an environment filled tension, arguments and fights. I am a Certified Anger Management Specialist and am trained to work with different aspects of sexuality and sexual issues including sexual compulsion/addiction and porn addiction.
I am open and honored to work closely with members of the GLBTQIQ and Polyamorous communities and am ‘kink-friendly’. I work with Gender Identity issues and assist transgender people through their transitioning process. I follow the WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) guidelines and Standards of Care to assist in traversing the transitioning process and will provide letters to physicians as I help Transgender persons move toward living their authentic lives.
