Description:ASAP Academy offers athletes 8 - 18 years of age the opportunity to receive baseball and softball training in a positive and challenging environment. We believe that student athletes cannot attain and maintain physical condition unless they are physically and mentally prepared. At ASAP Academy we teach the mental game through Athleticism, Self Esteem, Attitude, and Perseverance.
ASAP Academy will prepare young athletes to be competitive at the highest level. We encourage our student athletes to strive to be lifelong learners on and off the field, to grow as a person through character development, and to play the game of baseball with respect, dignity, and integrity. We believe that individuality is not sufficient to become a better athlete; we promote team unity and team spirit.
WE OFFER THE FOLLOWING LESSONS:
HITTING - Depending on the athletes experience and ability, the hitting segment consist of basic fundamental drills to a more advanced approach to hitting. Some of the fundamental drills include soft toss, front toss, and live pitching. An example of a more advanced approach includes situational hitting, hit and run, and all types of bunting (sacrifice, drag, and push). More importantly, the students are instructed to: Get A Good Stance, Get A Good Pitch, and Put A Good Swing On The Ball.
FIELDING - We are able to teach the fundamentals and advanced aspects of the infield and outfield positions. Lessons consists of proper throwing mechanics from the infield and the outfield, developing players for specific positions, and various infield drills (i.e. drop step, back hand, picks, dip and drive, clock drills, double play footwork, and more).
CATCHING - We are able to effectively teach the proper techniques and fundamentals to succeed behind the plate. Lessons in this area include catching stances, framing, blocking, throwing and fielding. On a more advanced aspect, depending on the students ability and experience, the catchers are taught how to throw from their knees. Students must bring their own gear. Always wear protective equipment including cups.
PITCHING - This segment is an introduction to beginners as well as more experienced pitchers. For beginners the lesson includes proper pitching mechanics from balance, landing, arm angle, and throwing fastballs. As the student progresses, the change up is introduced. Curveballs, screwballs, and other pitches that require more spin is taught once the player is physically stronger. This segment is also available for pitchers that want to throw a bullpen or want to stay in shape and maintain their performance level.
CANCELLATION POLICY
All "Cancellations" and "No Shows" become a charged lesson without exception unless the instructor is notified of such cancellation 12 hours in advance before the start of the lesson. Note: A coach calling a last minute team practice is not a valid excuse for canceling a lesson.
SICK POLICY
The same as the cancellation policy. In the event, your child comes home from school sick the day of a lesson. A charge will occur if you have to cancel. Call as soon as possible and every attempt to fill the time slot will be made. If the time slot is filled, there will be no charge for the lesson.
Lesson Start Time: Any student who shows up 15 minutes late to any lesson forfeits that lesson time.
